Green Power Cuts!

Well it seems ages since I wrote my post about 20 ways to go green for very little money, but it’s actually only been a couple of months.

Today I’ve just received my latest gas and electricity bills, and guess what? They’ve actually gone down, and not just a few quid, I mean really gone down.

I’m not yet doing everything I suggested, but a fair proportion of it, but combined we’ve seen an almost 20% reduction in our bills. We’ll have to keep an eye on this over the winter and at some point soon I’ll do a direct comparison with last years bills and try to factor out the energy price changes.

All in all I’m very happy, this has to have an effect on our carbon foot print!

  1. Hey, great post! I just posted yesterday about things I’ve been doing (not as organized as your list), and a lot of it was the same or similar. It reminds me that I keep forgetting to switch to a green energy provider though, which I have to go do now.

This weekend is the Green Festival in my area, which should be interesting. I’m hoping to end up with more good ideas of what I can do, little things that add up.

  2. Hi Deb, thanks for your comment, you’re exactly the enthusiastic type of person this blog is aimed at. If we all do our own little bit then it all adds up to a whole heap of change!

Good luck with your Green Festival this weekend.
