For quite a while now countries with the EU have been supposed to be promoting the use renewable energy, but in reality I really haven’t seen that much about it! Apparently there are grants available for the homeowner to get help in installing either ’solar panels’ or ‘wind turbines’. I looked into this, and I think with a bit more effort they might be able to make it more confusing!
I even heard (not confirmed) that or local borough council were considering increasing Council Tax costs for people who had already had them. Not to mention the planning legislation locally.
So I was very pleased to read this story about the government perhaps allowing Local Councils to relax permissions and even offer interest free loans to promote this use of green energy.
It’s only an idea at the moment, but lets hope it grow legs.
This story about the record attempt to get as many surfers as possible on the same wave made me smile when I read it. Now, I surf (not very often) but the thing that really bugs most surfers is people cutting in and stealing waves. Yet here we have a bunch of volunteers all trying to take the same wave!
Ready steady – GO!!! Get paddling
